To: whom it may concern

On the 1st of August 2006, my friend and I went to PINC located at Causeway Point at about 1715h. While I was there, a lady at the reception was on the phone and did not bother to ask us to hold on when we asked her questions about the service provided. She did not greet us and neither did she smile at us. After she was off the line, she did not stand up to address our doubts about the service provided but continue sitting on the chair which I thought it was pretty rude. She told us that most of her staffs were out and she told us to leave our name and contact number as well as the time we would be coming in.

We came back at 1745h and we asked for manicure service.

While the procedure was going on, I am disappointed to say that there was no standard dress code. The manicurist dressed pretty skimpily and their tattoos were shown when they sat down to provide pedicure service unto another customer. I must say, not 1, but most of them had their tattoos shown. With such a classy setting, I must say I am pretty disappointed with how the staffs dress themselves up.

Another thing is when the particular manicurist (a) had an appointment and when that lady who made an appointment came in, (a) went up to the lady who was doing manicurist for me and she gossiped a little. I think it is inadequate. What if, I knew the lady who made an appointment?

I also realized that during the course of having the manicure done, I saw many manicurists walking in and out of the shop, leaving only a few tending to the store. At a point of time, when the other customers are done with their nails and are leaving it to dry through the dryer, all of the staff went out, leaving 1 tending the shop. In a worse case scenario, what if something happened? Who would be held responsible?

When the manicurist attending to me was about to pain my left thumb, she adjusted my hand to a suitable spot and started painting my thumb. When she finished painting my thumb, she realize I had a smudge on my fourth finger and she said pretty loud in Chinese “why like that?” after giving a pretty loud “ah!” she then painted ONLY on that spot, causing an uneven layer of nail polish on my nail. And when she ask me to put my hand through the dryer, she said loudly again in Chinese, to ask me to be careful. I wouldn’t have mind if she had whispered to me instead of saying it aloud. It caused me to be pretty embarrassed and I was stunned. My friend even turned around and gave a stare at me. So did the other customers at the shop.

The paintings on the nail, however, is a disappointment. Having been to a few nail studios, I have not seen their paintings done on nail as bad as this. The layers of the painting was uneven. And when she spot certain spots not painted, she dripped another drip of paint until my nail to cover that spot instead of painting the whole nail instead. This is very visible 2 days after I had done my manicure. The final coat of transparent nail polish, I would suppose is the final coat, has formed bubbles on my nails. And the manicurist failed to see it.

When I was leaving the place after doing my manicure, the manicurist, again, failed to see her final artwork on my nails, which, many nail studios practice it. And the manicurist, too, did not ask me if I was satisfied with the service or with the service. We were not greeted when we went in and, we were not greeted when we went off. They also failed to ask if we want nail art on our nails or not.

On the whole, I am pretty disappointed with the service they had provided. I hope something will be done the next time I visit PINC again.

Thank you.
